Met Jerry Miculek today

He put on a demonstration and I talked with him afterwards. He was hooked up with S&W reps, and was promoting their products between each demonstration set. Real nice guy to talk with. Amazing talent, too - 6 shots, 2 each on 3 targets, in 1 second, etc., etc. Fun stuff to watch. Oh, if you're in OKC, OK, he'll be putting on 3 more demos, 1 per day, Fri-Sun as well, at H&H gun range. Today's show was at 1 or 1:30pm.

Oh, lol....I also got an autographed poster of the young sightly blonde Olga who is one of the EAA reps, as well as a promotion model for them - she's from Russia. I guess she's the Izhmash/Baikal/Molot connection...ha. They have tables there at H&H from S&W, EAA, Springfield, Kahr, and I think Taurus. I don't remember seeing Sig's table today like last year, but maybe it was there too, and I just missed it - I was focused on talking with Miculek. Springfield guy says that if you want the XD in .45gap, you'd better get on the waiting list and expect to wait 4 months or more.

Oh, have to say that I kind of dig the EAA Witness pistol called the "Hunter" - It's totally camo'ed - nice job too, and has a 6" bbl - can be had in .45 or 10mm. Only thing kinda cheesy about it is the fake compensator on it - you can't take it off either - it is integral to the barrel itself - the last inch.

That's very cool that you got a chance to meet him. I've heard he is a hell of a nice guy. Amazing is an understatement for his talent. To be able to reload as fast as he does just blows me away.

Jeff

I remember when Colt first came out with the Realtree camo'd Anaconda.

In a Shot Show review issue one of the gunrag writers did ask the Colt rep if it came with a customer service person to help look for it if you set it down in the woods. :)

I met Jerry Miculek about 15 or so years ago at the Springfield Armory Bicentennial. He put on a demo, then anyone could shoot against him for $15. The prize was a nice S&W leather jacket for whoever could knock down their 4 plates before he could take down his 5. All the money went to charity, and nobody went home with that leather jacket. I was around 14 or 15 at the time and thought it was great losing to him!

Olga?

OK, let's talk Olga

Well, I don't see her visage on the EAA website, but she was signing these 2' x 2' wall hanging posters - let me describe it. Olga (long blonde, blue eyes) is in a Western getup, with cowboy hat, leather fringe vest thingy (with belly button exposed, of course), cowboy belt and holster, and painted-on tight pants. She is holding one of EAA's (new I think) Bounty Hunter revolvers, both right AND left index fingers on trigger (oops). The title on the poster is "Wanted: Cowbowski !" The poster then features prominently an ad for the Bounty Hunter revo, and the IZH43K coach-type shotgun. Now, let your imagination go wild .... :) Maybe Selleck should make a sequel to "Quigley", set in time just after his Aussie adventure, but this time he goes to Russia. "Quigley Under the Hammer"?

I was there too

I was at H&H for the 6pm demo on Saturday. Mr Miculek is an amazing shooter and a real gentleman. I chatted with him afterwards, got his autograph and he gave me some great advice. Scott
