My two new Ruger Blackhawks arrived last week. (Replacing the Taurus Gauchos that simply did not hold up to the rigors of Cowboy Action Shooting )
After about 500 dry fires (with snap caps) on each I disassembled 'em and did just a smidgen of "tuning" work (a hint of polishing on a couple of parts seemed to be all that was needed) and installed lightened trigger and hammer springs.
Lube, reassemble, and off to the range for testing. I was worried that 17lb hammer springs might be too light but it was perfect, nice hammer pull and everything fired without fail or hiccup.
So, come warmer weather when the clubs around me resume competition I'll be back in the CAS game! YEA!!!!
(Now to order a couple thousand "Cowboy" .38 rounds so I have something to shoot )
