Mercury Recoil Reducer

I put an 8 oz. mercury supressor in my BAR in .300 wm and it worked great. The BAR already had a hole in the stock for the stock screw so install was as easy as removing the recoil pad, but I think a hole would have to be drilled for most bolt actions.

Sir;
I wouldn't have mercury in any way, in any sealed tube, under any circumstances in my rifle or around me!

While the idea is neat, mercury is a long term problem. That thing might be tight now, but your bolt will be around another 50 years, will it be tight then? I'd fill the hole with lead shot and call it a day.
