Meprolight vs. Trijicon vs. PT Night Sights

I'm looking to get night sights for my Glock 31. Can anyone tell me which one they would recommend and why? Or have you had any bad experiences with any of them?

Preciate it,

Just got a set of Trijicon sights put on my G19. These are the first set of night sights that I have ever had. Also have a set of Mepro for it. I like the Trijicon better. Not really a whole bunch of difference between the two that I can tell. Just seems that the Trijicon are a little nicer to see. Glockmeister has the meprolight sights for $65 bucks which seems to be a pretty good deal. Also Glock will throw them on for $53 bucks but you have to send the pistol in if you want them to do it. They will send you a set if you want to install them.

PT's come in fancy colors, but they're supposed to be SIGNIFICANTLY DIMMER than the competition.

Haven't checked 'em side by side myself, so take it wth a grain of salt.

By all accounts, Trij's and Mepro's are pretty much equal. Dunno what I've got on my somewhat-aged S&W 1066, but they work. Kinda dim, though. But mine are old, and night sights have a finite life of about fifteen years or so. In my case, if it's dark enought to see the sights glow, I CANNOT see the target at all.

Sent the gun to Smith when I got it, with a note to look at the sights. They checked point-of-aim/point-of-impact, but didn't put new sights in for free, the cheapskates. Maybe they're still bright. I dunno, I don't have any others. I'm gonna buy either Mepro's or Trijicons for my G-32 when I finally get around to doing it.

PT's are much dimmer! I recently purchased a used gun with PT installed. they were dim so I ordered another set. They looked exactly the same.

They are usable in low light situations but they aren't nearly as bright as the others.

I don't know what brand Les Baer uses but those things glow at noon!

I've never used PT sights before so I cant comment on them...Meprolight are my favorite nightsights...tough...bright & a great daytime picture...To me...they seem brighter then the Trijicons...

I read in another thread somewhere that Trijicon uses a white paint on their outer ring that can chip off whereas Meprolight's outer white ring is made of plastic...I'm not sure if this is true or not but you might wanna check into it...

I've had a set of Trijicon's on my G27...

..since 1999. They still glow brightly after the .40 caliber recoil and dropping the pistol TWICE on my bedroom carpet. I think the Trijicon website shows a diagram of the construction of their sights. There is a rubber "shock absorber" that surrounds the tiny glass vials that hold the tritium gas that gives the sights their "glow". (I think Meprolights use plastic vials, but I'm not sure about that.) Also, the white rings that make the sights easy to see in the daytime are still in place. For these reasons, I like Trijicon's the best.
