Meprolight or Trijicon for Night Sights?

Does anyone have any personal experience with either of these brands? I can get the Meprolight sights for my HK USP .40C for about $30 cheaper. Are the Trijicon's worth the extra money, or are they about equal? Any input would be appreciated.

From everything I have seen or read I am leaning toward the meprolights. So far the best price I have found is at arizonagunrunners I think they are about $60
where is your best price?

Sod,

The best price I've found for Meprolights is around $65 through Natchez Shooting Supply and also around $65 through Graf & Sons Inc. Trijicons are about $90 through Natchez.

I've been told that the elements in Trijicon are longer-lasting. The housings are ugly, but I'm happy with the sight picture. To me, these factors were worth the extra money.

Mepro's have a plastic ring around the cells that will never rub off, thus, you always have the white dot. After several cleanings of Triji's, you'll be cursing because the painted rings will be gone.
Both will last for about the same time. If you only spend $100 every 8 plus/minus years on your gun, then you're way ahead!
I've used both, and taken a loss to sell my used triji's and buy mepro's!!!

MEPRO all the way. 10 years/8 guns/0 problems.

I'm always a bit leery of really good prices on night-sights. I'd still buy them though. I don't think enough people take into consideration the AGE of the night-sights. If they were mfg 2-4 years ago, then their brightest times were sitting in a box waiting for a buyer.

I don't know if that's related to the reason that buying form the mfg is $100.00 versus $60.00 from a dealer. Is there a way of checking the sight's age before you buy?

The Meprolites on my Glock from '93 are MUCH brighter and easier to acquire then the Trijicons on my SIG which date from '92. I prefer Meros myself. Some of my buds prefer Trijicons. See if your friends have either ones mounted on theirs, take them into a dark room and see which ones you like best.
