I shot my Dad's new Model 29 yesterday and I had an epiphany. Is there really any point to something more than a .44 Mag? To have and to hold is really about all I can come up with. What is there that one needs to do with a handgun that can't be accomplished by a .44 Magnum or less? Honestly if one can't do it with a .44 Mag then one probably needs a rifle or shotty. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all you .454 and .500 shooters are stupid. I just think you guys must just want it because its there.
 
Reloaders can have a field day with the 460. I'd say handgun hunting for elk and bigger animals require (perhaps require is not the right word)... can effectively use a cartridge bigger than 44mag.

JMO.

<EDIT> Yeah, I just want one to have one -- 454 that is.
