Meet The Andrews Sisters,,,

The last thing I needed was another revolver,,,
Especially another snubby in .38 Special,,,
But this deal was too good to let go.

A friend bought a brand new Charter Arms Undercover early this year,,,
The gun works fine (I've fired it) but she can't hit with it,,,
And this is a lady who does fine with other guns.

Anyhoo, she said she was going to trade it in,,,
For a Taurus PT-111 Millennium G2 at a local gun store,,,
She really liked the feel of the gun and had read good reviews on them.

Let's just say the deal they offered her bordered on criminal,,,
They wanted her revolver plus $100.00 cash for the deal.

She paid $339.00 + tax for her revolver,,,
The most I've ever seen a PT-111 go for was $299.00.

So I called around and found a brand new one on sale for $249.00,,,
It was the last one they had so I bought it from them,,,
This A.M. I traded it straight across to my friend.

I threw in 100 rounds of range fodder ammunition as well.

The deal was approved between us before I bought the new pistol,,,
She's very happy, I have a gun that fills out a set,,,
And the robbers at the LGS lost the deal. :p

So here they are,,,
  • 3" Bulldog in .44 Special - Laverne
  • 4" Pathfinder in .22 LR - Maxene
  • 2" Undercover in .38 Special - Patty

There is only one downside,,,
Now that I've given them names,,,
I have to make three matching holsters. ;)

Hello g.willikers,,,

It's difficult to believe The Andrews Sisters could ever be forgotten,,,
Every young man back then wanted to meet them.

I remember them from watching all those black & white movies from the WW-II era,,,
Also my sister was in a tribute trio way back in the late 50's/early 60's.

My uncle said they were some of the sweetest girls on the planet,,,
In reality they had a much more troubled life than that.

But they toured extensively for the GI's during the war,,,
And they went to some fairly bad places to do it,,,
For that reason alone they should be honored.

I had an aunt who could have been Laverne's twin,,,
My Gosh did she look great in her 40's garb.

I have a weak spot for S&W revolvers.

I must say though, I owned a Charter Arms off duty years ago. For a "bargain" revolver, it was well put together. I've always kind of had some "infatuation" if you will with the Charter Arms guns, but don't currently own any. Someday I will spring for a bulldog in .44SPL.

Anyway, good looking family there..............

You do realize that most folks here probably have no idea who the Andrew Sisters were, don't you?

LOL!!! I would say that there are some folks who don't remember, but maybe not as many as you think. (Meaning a lot of us are old farts.):D
