I've been looking at these for a while and just couldn't resit the temptation any longer. Mind you I had to liquidate some of my safe's assets just to fund it.

Ed Brown Executive Carry

I took her to the range immediate after leaving the FFL. great shooter, superb craftsmanship in this pistol makes it more accurate than my ability to hold it on target. I've never been a bulls-eye shooter as I don't have the patience to hone my skills in this area. I opt instead to throw lead downrange to center mass. In a short period I got 4in groups at 15yrds, 6 inch at 22 yrds which is the range limit. I was tired after 200 rounds so I quit for the day. After the first 150 rounds I got a few FTF. this did not surprise me as 1) Super Tight, it's brand new. 2) Cheap ammo, I was shooting crappy WWB and it was getting dirty 3) starting to run dry, I didn't stop to add any oil as recommended in the manual (I did read it after I got home from the range). 4) I was tired and not operating at 100%. I did not get any FTE.

I will be looking for a good quality holster for occasional carry, but it will mostly be a nightstand gun. I use a Crossbreed SuperTuck for my EDC and like the fit. How do you guys like carrying your 1911 in Kydex? I know leather in far prettier and quite frankly this is as close to a BBQ gun as I will every have. I absolutely love the "skip line" checkering on the fore & backstrap.

I am also interested in hearing what magazines you folks prefer for CCW. I've generally used Chip McCormick PowerMags. I see the PowerMags come in black which maybe important. Does anyone use the concealment base pad and are they work the extra few bucks to you? OK, that last question seems silly after I ponied up the $$$$ for this piece.

Wow, very nice gun and I also like the checkering. Just curious did you order the gun or buy it from someone? If you ordered it how was the process and what was the lead time?

I did not order it, I am fortunate to have a dealer within a few miles of my home that has some in stock, he had this particular piece since Jan 29.

Gregg Riley at Investments That Shoot is a good person to do business with and I will go to him again if I buy any more New firearms. More often that not I buy used.
