This happened in Perth, Australia, today.
Just wondering if the U.S. media gets it as wrong as the Aussie media?

Police play down reports of Perth gunman

Police cordoned off Perth's central business district this afternoon after reports of a gunman in the area, but they now say the man was probably unarmed.
Officers searched Exchange Plaza after a man made threats and implied he was armed, but police said there was no confirmation the man had a gun.
Police say the man had earlier appeared in the Federal Court, where he had failed in his bid to sue Centrelink for millions of dollars.
He then went to the Australian Government Solicitors office in Exchange Plaza, where he was turned away.
Police Inspector Roger Beer says the man made no threats on that occasion, but his earlier remarks had sparked concern about his motive.
"The comments he made in the court suggested that he may be attempting to source a firearm but no firearm has ever been sighted and there's no evidence of that," Inspector Beer said.
Workers have been allowed to return to the building.

I think what Don was getting at is that there doesn't seem to be any conflicting evidence that the story is inaccurate. (That is your assertion, isn't it?)

What are you trying to point out? Did he have a gun? What was happening?

No it did not make US news that I know of.
