Media says Gore won - Here is a poll in liberal SF

Well of course they did. Didn't the same leftist media say Hillary won too?

First the media bunch declared Gore the winner, then they went to remotes in St. Louis and Florida where panels of undecided citizens said Bush won, then they came back and tried to figure out how these folks could have made that mistake. They proceeded to decide that expectations for Bush were so low going in, that when he didn't drool, ordinary folks were tricked into believing he'd won.

The national media elite are such a wonderful bunch. They vote 90% Democratic, and we are supposed to imagine they have a shred of objectivity. Please.

Gore refused to stay within the agreed to format. If you can't trust him at that level, how can you trust him when he tells you what he will do. Bush missed a few opportunities. When Gore told folks how he reduced government workers by 300,000, he was counting the reduction in the size of the military. Wow, Bush should have known that and called him on it.

Gary, It's easy to come up with good responses when it's over and you have time to think, especially when you want to come up with honest factual responses and that's what the liar Gore doesn't have to worry about. Gore is a liar, just as big a liar as Clinton, but it doesn't seem to matter any longer to the majority of American Voters that vote (Clinton two terms). I'm voting for Bush whether he wins or loses the rest of the stupid debates.

I'm out of town travelling, and I missed the debate, but my wife said that she thought Bush won the debate. Gore was attacking Bush's ideas and not presenting his own. Very interesting.

Yeah no kidding. Dad and I were actually shouting at the TV over that one. I'm not really a fan of our military as it stands, but I respect what it's job is, and I feel ashamed of how our current administration has trampled all over it.

It isn't that he necessarily downsized it by 300,000 either, a lot of it has to do with people scrambling to get out of the army, and not too many people scrambling to get in.

I know it is easy to arm chair QB, but Bush, IMO, missed some opportunities to slam Gore.

Gore's energy policy: to reduce 'demand' as he called it, would have been a perfect time to reflect on Gore's gas tax from his book.

Social Security cut bennys vs raise taxes. Gore RAISED taxes by casting the tie breaking vote. He raised taxes on SS BENEFITS.

Military rediness could have been hit on by Bush with any ONE of the many articles that have come out recently. The Army Artillery training is in schambles, the CNN report that Navy planes are canabalizing, that fact that we've gone from 50 subs to 20+ subs since 1992.

Gore's statement that Bush leaves out 95% of seniors is true, BUT ONLY if you include the ones that ALREADY have a plan. 66% of seniors ALREADY have a drug plan.

Sure wish BUSH's people would read a newpaper once and a while.

Bush did defend his plan well and with emotion. He wasn't just out there to coast and run from his position. kudos on that.

I was hoping gun control would come up. DAMN. Gun owners needed to hear about Al's photo ID and having to renew a license scheme.

I bet Bush will do better next time...and I'm a cynic so I think that says a lot.
