I'm using corncob media (rouge) in a tumbler with rifle brass. Polishes the bulk of the cases just fine. But, I keep getting left with this hard powdery residue around the case neck. If I was guessing it might be where there was carbon on the case. Has anyone seen this? More to the point how do I get rid of it without hand cleaning each piece of brass?

Tip to avoid what you see in your picture-
Use 0000 steel wool and wipe the neck after taking each shot at the range or certainly before putting it into your tumbler.
As I was told either here or another forum, that powdery residue is an abrasive, no matter how weak it might be. If it is on the outside, it is on the inside. Do you want this abrasive going down your barrel when you next fire and do you want it and the powder or whatever it is adhering to going into your die?

It is a hard residue from the rouge compound. It comes off with some bore solvent and a stiff rub with a cloth. But one case at a time is very time consuming. I was wondering about and ultrasonic bath, at least then I would cleaning the inside as well and reduce the barrel's exposure to this stuff.
