Mech Tech System CCU

Mech Tech Fun

I have one that I use with my SA .45 MilSpec. I mounted a relatively inexpensive shotgun/black powder scope (about right for the effective range these have).

A couple of 10 round McCormick magazines and you're ready for a lot of fun at the range. Get used to the "spoing" the stock makes.

I'm looking for a "easy on and off" bipod for it now. It's perfect for indoor ranges.

The only problem is you're going to have so much fun with it your ammo costs will skyrocket. I suspect that mech tech is actually a phony front for one of the major ammo suppliers and is designed to get each of us to triple our monthly spending on .45 ammo.

Have fun!

DonP.......They make a polymer butt stock insert that takes the "spoing" away.

Just bought 500 rds. of .45 last week, looks like it's back to J & G for 500 more.

I've got one of the MechTech in .45 with the polymer butt stock. The spoiiing is still there. I don't mind it, it just adds character to the carbine. Love shooting it. Accurate, reliable. I use a Colt Commander .38 super frame on mine. Only thing I don't like is the shape of the butt stock, I'm thinking about developing a different one similar to the new HK .45 carbine.

Wilson Combat sells a similar carbine kit.

I don't know the relative merits of either, but I wish they'd make one for a SIG P220.
