Mec Service....

Recently my second or third hand MEC 600 developed a prob. The Carrier Bar, where the charge bar and the bottles screw into, started to tear where the shot bottle attached. After consulting with some folks over on trapshooters.com, I used JB weld to fix the old one and called MEC for a replacement. They have upgraded the design on the newer ones.

Ordered the part a couple of Mondays ago, it arrived that Friday. Cost was $15, including S&H. Less than 96 hours from the Midwest not bad at all.

Now if they would just work on that auto feed(G)...

Dave ,

Are you speaking of a primer auto-feed ? If so , what kind of problem are you having ? My 30 year old Sizemaster has a 20 year old primer feeder ( should be the same on a 600 Jr ) . I have to "fiddle" with it every 3 or 4 years and have replaced the brass
spring once ; if I had kept the tray clean 'n slick that may not have been necessary . Hawkaaa53

Hawk, can't seem to get the bead chain adjusted right so the little arm comes back far enough to let a primer fall into that cup on the end pf the arm. I have to "encourage" it a mite, negating the advantage of an auto feed. It works the way I do it, but it's an extra step.

Dave ,

Two remedies you might consider :

Take a hull and cut about 1/2" off and put that piece between
the lever that operates off the final crimp die

Do a final crimp and bend the connector a bit , either way , to
the "half-bead" the chain may be off .

I replaced my bead-chain with a pirce of heavy monofilament
leader so that I could have a bit more precision in the adjustment .
