Me shooting Saiga 12 12gauge 45 rounds

Nice video. I'm unfamiliar with the Saiga 12, and have a few questions.
Do they usually have reliability issues?
What is setting 1?
What were the specs on your reloads?

Some people have problems with them cause the run cheap walmart ammo and not enough punch to cycle the bolt. It has 2 setting #1 and #2 they say #1 is for High brass so all the gas goes out the barrel and #2 is for low brass so the gasses come back to help cycle it. I have never had a problem with mine cause i shoot my reloads. And there is so my stuff you can get for this gun its not funny. they make them in 12, 20, 410.

My reloads are any hull but mostly winchester AA 2 3/4"

IMR 700-x powder 18 grains
winchester 209 primers
claybuster wads CB1118-12
shot 7 1/2 to 8

but also load buck shot and slugs to

is a forum just for Saiga guns

It is also based around the Ak so it should be pretty reliable. I have been wanting one of these since I have heard of them and the price is not bad either for what it is. nothing but fun right there

I never have any problems with mine except the cover for the action doesn't like to stay on but it works fine without it. I also shoot 5stand with mine. There not too shabby

It looks like a kick in the ass. if the hoard was to descend on my home I may want the Saiga, but one thing about the basic tube magazine is the ability to feed rounds as capacity is depleted.

I have a Saiga 12. As was posted by others the adjustable gas ports are set so all but the light birdshot low brass loads work off of #1, flip it to #2 for thos light load shells, as the ports are opened more to allow gases to help recyle the action.

I am about to use my Saiga for my first Texas Hog Hunt this June. I use the factory 5 round mags, but have a couple of 10 rounders here at the house. No limit in Indiana for mag capacity when hunting anythiong other than waterfowl. I wonder what a game warden would say if he came across me with my Saiga after deer...with a 30 round drum on the shot gun !!!

Early on with this gun I had a few FTE's with light Federal loads...cured by checking to be sure I had fliped the plug to point 2 on the dial.

Here is my Saiga. One of the best $450 I have spent.

There are a bunch of companies out that just make after market parts just for Saiga 12's. If you want the links i can post them. There are so many ways you can customize these guns.
