I plan on using my m1a with a scope, and was wondering which stock with ajustable check piece would be best for it, one with a more vertical handgrip or one with a full pistol grip? What are the advan vs disadvan of either, will be shooting prone primarily.

We make both or if you don't want an adjustable we make one with a high comb . The vertical grip doesn't hamper the snipers which use our sniper stocks

I've heard several people complain about how long it takes McMillan to make and deliver their stocks.

What's the average wait on say, an M3A stock for the M1A.

If your M1-A is a " post ban gun ", I believe it is illegal to re-stock it with a pistol grip stock. If your rile was made by Springfield Armory, call their custom shop, and they can tell you if it is pre-ban or post-ban. Hope this info helps.

We would like for our delivery to be better and are making every effort including building a new 160000 square foot factory. to improve it. Our back log is 6 to 8 weeks on some stocks longer on some.
