Mbus rear sight as a primary?

Hey fellas I was just bought a M&P-15 from the local gun shop and it came with a standard A2 fixed front sight. It also came with a Magpul Mbus rear sight and I was wondering if these are any good as a primary sight. I tend to enjoy shooting irons short distances so this is what this gun will be for. If these are crap what irons would you recommend?

Elevation...

I have the same gun, same sights. Elevation is accomplished with a small tool to raise/lower the front sight. If it didn't come with it, contact Smith & Wesson. they promptly sent one to me.

Well sure front post push and twist, but the magpul rear sight has no elevation.

100 yards you should have no problem.

You had my hopes up when I first read your post thinking that there was a tool out there to adjust elevation on it.

Adjusting the front is a small pita in the field, but with the OP firing up to 100 I think he'll be fine with "set it and forget it"

There is a tool. It's included with the gun, NIB.

Smith & Wesson sent one to me free of charge as a new gun buyer. Just email them.
