Woke up this morning (is it considered morning when it's still dark out?) to "Dennis" whistling through my windows... and from past experience (Fran, etc) I see we might be down for a day or two. Hopefully it wont happen, but if it does... no phone, no e-mail, no site maintenance.

I needed a vacation anyway... so if I'm unreachable for a bit, y'all know why!

My thoughts are with you. We've seen "Dennis" on TV here -- and I've been through a couple myself.

My advice? Get drunk and stay low ;)

ooh... we had a hurricane party last night, and my head is suffering with 115 mph winds today. i think i'll stick to tea & popcorn!

My garbage can just flew past my window... (all the neighbors get together the day after and trade back gc's) and the county below up lost electricity.

As a former yankee (we only worried about blizzards) every year at this time we are thankful we chopped down those 39 tall pines right before Fran.

I live in Savannah and we were lucky enough to have Dennis pass us by. Best of luck, and keep your head down. Those GC's can give you a heck of a headache!

BTW: I moved here from NY. I don't think they allow you to be a "Former" Yankee, just a "Damned" Yankee!
 
Wow! A New Yawkah in Savanah? You must have an interesting existance now. I know when I first moved here people's reaction to me once I opened my mouth was immediate! I worked hard to get rid of the "joisey" accent... now no one can really place me.

Well... we're still here. Sun is shining... winds are gusting. Very strange day indeed.

Actually, everyone here's been very welcoming and don't mind that I'm from NY.

They do, however mind that the first pistol I owned was a Sigma! :) :) :) :) :)
