As a general purpose pump-action shotgun, it's very serviceable. I had one for almost twenty years, and never had a single issue with it. I used it for shooting clays, duck hunting, and even a couple goose hunts. It worked well enough to get the job done.
I can say that Mav 88s are pretty reliable and tough, for what they are and their price point.
I can't say how one would put up with thousands and thousands of rounds every year though. Probably the whole time I had mine, I might've put 4-5,000 rounds through it total. But it ran perfectly every single time.
