Mauser M2... Why?

If it is taller and wider than a Glock 30.
Why cant it have the 10+1 capacity as the G30?
A simplistic way of looking at it I know.
But it makes no sense to me!
If the M2 had a 10rd mag it would be all the rage.

As many have said before Sig makes great products but hasn't a clue about marketing.
Do you think Sales/Marketing and Engineering would sit down together for 5 minutes.
This is really annoying me.
So, if someone can give me some good reasons why the M2 was built with only an 8rd magazine capacity I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Please, none of that " if you need more than eight..." nonsense.

Don't forget the strange safety. Why not a conventional safety?

I think that turned off a lot of folks.

Look at a Beretta 8045 compared to a ParaOrdnance 14-45. Now stand their respective magazines side by side. It is surely possible to build a Beretta 8045 to hold 14 rounds in a magazine, yet they built an 8 round magazine.
Comparing grip sizes to come up with theoretical capacity is useless. Part of it is how strong the engineer wants to make the frame. Also, remember that Sig's other .45 ACPs have a max cap of 8 rounds. You don't always change all the design specs before starting work.

*shrug* 'Cause that's how they designed it. If you find it disagreeable, don't get one.

As was said, there are more factors at work than overall grip circumference.
