I've read several reviews and opinions on the Mauser M2 pistol and like any other pistol, you can find people that hate them, and people that love them. Let me just say that (so far) I LOVE mine! I got it Christmas and after 350 rounds of every different type/brand of ammo I have been able to put my hands on, I have had ZERO failures of ANY kind! It devours Gold Dots just as good as FMJ's. The gun is deadly accurate too. It shoots like a dream. In fact I have a 9mm that feels much more harsh than the M2 does.

I can say that the Safety is in a weird location but it hasn't caused a problem yet.
Disassembly is more difficult than a Tarus but not overly so.

Anyway, I really feel that for the price the M2 is a very very good deal. I paid $419 for mine (45ACP) and it came with two mags and a cool case too.

Any other M2 owner/fans out there?

You very well could be one lonely chap.

SIG obviously sees value in the Mauser line as it has attached its name and reputation to it.

The M2 I got shot relatively well. Not as well as the P220 I was shooting it against but that could have been just me not accustomed to its trigger. What sold me into buying it was how well it actually fit in my hand despite being a double stacked gun. Fit much better than a Glock G36. Recoil was very light for a .45ACP due to, IMO, its very wide backstrap.

However, I just couldn't get over its more complicated takedown procedure, odd safety location, and unusual non-symetrical, uneven cosmetic steps on the sides of the slide. Plus it was a bit too wide and the recoil spring was incredibly strong for the final ¼" of its rearmost travel. As a result, I traded it in.
