Mauser ID

New to TFL and was wondering if anyone could ID the Mauser action that I just picked up. It is the action only and it only has the serial number on the side with no other stamps for ID. The serial # is Z34xxx. Any help would be great.

Pictures would make it a tad easier..
Does it have a thumb cut out?
What does floor plate look like?
Action screw distance?
We can go all day like this....

I drove myself nuts once trying to identify a Mauser bare action (pre-internet)...
Turned out to be a .22LR training rifle for some military.
If a walking Mauser historian hadn't identified it, I'd still be looking (or in a straight jacket!).

With a Z as the first character, I would bet money on it being a Zastava Mauser from Serbia. Not a lot of commercial Mausers made any more, and the Zastava plant has been cranking Mausers out for about a century, but the commercial ones only for 50+ years.

"...money on it being a Zastava Mauser from Serbia..." Not exactly a horrible thing either.
Any other stamps on it at all?

Worked on one Yugoslav Mauser (Tito era) and found it would not close on the field gauge, no go gauge, both of which was good. Then it wouldn't close on the go guage. Guess they didn't want the militia to shoot anyone.
