Noticed a few around reasonable made in Italy w/ 2 hicap mags.

( Wonder if the german single column Hsc's would turn Oleg on? )

I liked HSC a lot and almost dropped nearly $200 on one (single-stack German). However, it is big and heavy for a .32 and more than one example slamfired when the slide closed (which it does when the magazine is inserted). I decided to save my pennies and get a Colt Hammerless or a Remington 51, both of which appeal to me even more. Something like a 1934 Beretta .32 also appealed to me...till I realized it is far too complex to operate.

Where did you find the double-stack version? In what caliber? I might just re-evaluate my opinion of the pistol.

Looks like a great gun for mom (14 rounds of .32 in a modern pistol)...who sells it?

Guns America. 380 cal. 15 round mags.

One close to $500, others much cheaper.

Have a 34/35 Berretta in 7.65.

Best friend and I watched Sean Connery as James Bond. He got the 32 Walther. I went into gunstores many times to buy one. But always got talked out of one by the da trigger pull. The Beretta, my dad had a 380 when I was about 13 or 14, loved that baroque or rococco look. Going to Reno tomorrow, one shop thinks they've got the Browning 10/71. Interestingly, the best friend had an old 32 or 380 Colt auto last time he was down.

Did I mention to check out the Beretta model 70 32/380's - think they were single action single column guns.

I have a single-stack Mauser HSc .380. I've had it for years, but only shot it once in awhile. It seems to work fine.

I originally bought it based on a cover story in a Guns & Ammo from back in the late 60's or early 70's. I bought the magazine at a flea market for about $.05 and couldn't get over how cool the HSc looked to my teenage eye. A few years later I saw one in a pawn shop and had to have it. I still think they are nice looking pistols.

Anyway, to the point, I saw one of those high-capacity double-stack HScs awhile back in a gun shop. I think it was called a "Super HSc" or something. It was pretty ugly. The grip was just way too big for the rest of the gun. And, while I like the HSc, even the standard model is heavy. I'd steer clear of the high-capacity version. If you want a double-stack .380, the Barettas and Brownings look a lot nicer. And today, you can get a Kel-tec, Taurus, or Kahr 9mm or .40 that is smaller, lighter, and fires a more effective cartridge. Or a Makarov or FEG PA-63 for less money that fires a slightly more powerful round.

That said, the double-stack HSc probably works fine if you don't mind the size, weight, and look.

Rusty,
Glad to read that someone else has found one of these little gems. :)
I picked up a used .32 Mauser HSc, with two 13 round mags a few years back. Caught my eye, in part, because of the dark blue-black finish contrasts with the wood grips rather nicely. And the double-stack mags appealed to me instead of the 5-7 round singles that are currently all the rage. Never bought it for concealed carry, anyway.
Just wish it had come with a how-to manuel.
Can't even tell if it's German made or from Gamba.
I even posted here at TFL a couple months back, but to no avail.
It's the only handgun I own that I know little or nothing about.
Maybe some day...

After having a new one for sale in my local gunstore for over a year the owner traded it to me for something that I don't recall. It was a Mauser Gamba in 380cal. It was not reliable even with FMJ so I didn't keep it very long.
