Mauser 98K Firing Pin Question.

First time posting to a forum. Please let me know if I did something wrong. I inherited a Mauser 98K missing the firing pin and spring. I plan to take it to a gunsmith but want to purchase the parts myself. Listings on EBay look like they are of different lengths. How do I determine which length is correct? Markings on receiver - dot (Czechoslovakia), 1944, Mod 98. I believe it is a large ring Mauser. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

All of the Czech M98 actions were standard length.

Buy a standard length firing pin. K98, Gew98, commercial FN, they will all work.

Thanks for the info

Thank you gentlemen. This will really help me get off to a good start with my new project. Hopefully, as I learn more about this Mauser I can share the knowledge with others as you have done here.

No reason to take it to a gunsmith, The bolt is pretty easy to take apart and reassemble, once you get the parts.

Check out a few Videos on YouTube, you should have it back in action pretty quickly.
