Mauser 1911 in 22lr

LGS has a new mauser 1911 in 22lr for $369. Tan in color. On line reviews are mostly okay. Say you need to run higher powered ammo to make the gun cycle reliably. I'm tempted.

It appears to be a re-badged GSG 1911-22. They're not bad. The GSG has been around for awhile, so there are aftermarket parts available to address some of the weaknesses.
 
I had the Sig marked version (gave it to a nephew). It was reliable and fairly accurate; not on the order of a .22 target pistol, but certainly fine for plinking and general shooting.

While it replicated a 1911 in most ways, there was a general feeling of it being just enough 'off' to confound a dedicated 1911 shooter-or at least THIS 1911 shooter. Personal prejudice, for sure.

Oh, the mag disconnect is easy to remove if you look online-

Happy Birthday to me!

Decided that this gun would be my birthday present. Did paperwork yesterday and can pick up on Thurs. (Yeah, I live in Illinois.) Looking forward to it. I got the tan version.
