Matt's Bullets

Darnit!! I was hoping nobody else would discover Matt's Bullets :p.

I've only used his 38/357 slugs - but they're excellent. He offers unique - and very usable - bullet profiles. AND, in the case of 38/357, they're sized to .359," and that seems to work really well for every gun I've put them through (all S&W's). Reduced leading with pinpoint accuracy.

Great bullets.
 
Don't see too many folks selling 300 Grain Round Flat Hollow Points.

I may have to pick up a couple hundred.
 
The Keith bullets I bought from Matt's bullets were, each and everyone, perfect in every way.

173gr Keith flat based bullets in .357 mag.

Completely flat base that didn't come from some bullet casting machine that use bevel based bullets that lead your barrels to the point of frustration.

You get what you pay for.

For premium bullets you can't beat them.
 
I was looking at the gas checked 45 ACP's and it does look a little high for cast bullets. I know the price for gas checks have gone up, but at 22 cents a bullet, I can buy FMJ for a better price.

Just my opinion, stay safe.

A question for members that have used Matts Bullets :

How do they compare to Penn bullets?

Specifically - for anyone that has used 38 full wadcutters - are Matt's more accurate than Penn?
 
My favorite bullet for the 45 Colt/454 Casull is Matt's 315 gr. WFN GC, which weighs out 318 gr on my scale. Very accurate, and controllable at around 1100 fps in both my Ruger Bisley and Taurus Raging Bull, both with 5 inch tubes.

Wow, they are expensive. What's driving the price? They have gold cores? :D

They're about 50% more than Xtreme plated, and about 25% more than FMJ (pick your brand).
 
I'm not sure why some folks are complaining about the price of his bullets, it is what it is if you don't like it then don't buy from him. Matt offers a quality product which he hand casts himself, the bullets are not generated from a automatic Magnus machine like most others. He also offers much more variety and some hard to find cast bullets, i.e. the Lyman ".358 195gr LRN bullet. The big selling point for me and a lot of others is he offers true Keith Bullets, not the wanna be "Keith Style" that the big casters have. His prices are in line with a lot of other premium cast bullets out there from what I can see.

I'm your guy.

The nice thing about Penn is that they'll size your bullets; but since Matt's is where I want them (.359") anyway, Penn holds no advantage for me.

I have used both Matt's and Penn's full wadcutters. No 38/357 bullet that I know of makes a sharper, cleaner, and bigger hole than Matt's 150gn WC. My absolute favorite. Penn's DEWC's make nice holes too. Just not quite as nice.

But Matt's, Penn, Missouri Bullet, Oregon Trail, etc. - they all shoot straight, from my experience. So it's a tie there. 38 Special has the good fortune of being inherently accurate.

BTW, for 44 Special, my choice is Penn's 185 DEWC's. Sized to .431.

The reason is simple COST it makes a big difference if you really shoot a lot .
I get a 1,000 44 Cal 240 gr. lead the first week of every month from SNS .

I have a standing order .
 
Nick, thanks for the info, they look to be a great choice, the cost is a real turn off though...

Still, Ill give them a try and see if they are better for me than Penn Bullets or Mastercast.net
