Matte Black refinished to Satin Stainless??

Can a stainless steel revolver that is finished in matte black by the manufacturer, be re-finished to satin stainless...?

If so, what companies do that sort of thing?

Thanks!

Most any GOOD firearms refinishing company can polish or bead blast the black off.

You can even select the level of finish you want from a bead blasted matte finish to a mirror bright polish.
The easiest and cheapest would be the matte bead blast, followed by the standard factory type satin brushed finish.

Here's some companies that can do it RIGHT.
(Note that too many local places may over polish the gun and ruin it. It takes a real professional to do good gun polishing without rounding off sharp edges or leaving ripples in the flats).
Contact them for pricing, which will be less than a blue job or other applied finish.

Regarding the suggestion to be sure it is actually stainless steel...

I'm thinking of doing this to the new Smith & Wesson Model 632 Carry Comp, which their website identifies as being stainless steel with matte black finish.

I haven't actually been able to get my hands on this new revolver yet, but when I do, I just want to know if it's possible to change it to satin stainless...I just like that look better. Wish S&W made it in stainless instead of, or in addtion to, black.

Actually, I just wish they would make it, period. Can't seem to find one anywhere!
