Matte 1991A1 Finish

I have a question about this finish: what, if anything, can be done to bring to it a higher shine than the matte blue? What separates this finish from, for example, the deep blue of a Kimber heritage? What would one do to achieve such a finish on the 1991A1? Or is the 1991A1's finish the same as the parkerized Mil-Spec Springfield, and I am simply mistaken.

1991A1 is parkerized. I bought mine back in 1992. The only thing you can do to get it to shine more is paint it. You can also have the finish polished off and blued, but that is up to you. Were it me, I'd keep the parkerized finish. Your 1991 is a Utility gun. If you want a pretty one, there are many choices out there for you.
