Mateba Unica 6

Greetings everyone,
I'm new to these forums and this is my first time buying a firearm for myself, so bear with me if I ask some stupid questions. I pretty much have my heart set on getting a Mateba Unica 6 w/scope mounts with an 8" barrel in a nickel finish. I am having absolutely no luck finding any Unica 6 what-so-ever, let alone the specifics that I am looking for.
Also, I live in California... Will I even be able to purchase this firearm in my state/have it shipped to my state? I know that this Revolver is semi-automatic and has threading for a compensator. I understand that the CA gun ban was lifted about 5 months ago, but that doesn't mean that CA will ever gain common sense.
If someone can actually locate this Arm, does it need to be purchased out of state and then sent to an FFL holder? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

Here is the CA DOJ Approved Nerf-Safe Handguns List. If a firearm is not on this list, you may not buy it from an FFL in CA. You couldn't buy one from out of state, either, because you'd have to have it transferred to an FFL in CA, who wouldn't be able to transfer it to you. The only way that, as a private citizen in CA, you could obtain an 8" nickelled Mateba would be if another CA citizen had one and wanted to sell it to you.

They were available (relatively) inexpensively a few years back, when their previous importer folded and the overstock was bought by CDNN, who sold them as cheaply as $599. Now they're imported by AWA, and are definitely not cheap.

They are interesting guns, and I liked mine.

:(

Hmm, is there any good place you can recommend for hunting down such a firearm in CA? Also, would it honestly be strongly suggested that I avoid any sort of straw deal? (*Cough*)

Am I even allowed to ask that on these forums? haha. :)

IANAM (I am not a moderator), but here goes:

There's always the possibility of placing a WTB ad within the State.

As far as the "straw purchase" goes, it's really bad form to ask anyone on a forum for help in breaking the law.

I am curious as to how that pistol works. I have heard it is like a semiauto and it has some sort of 'slide' ? Which part of this pistol recoils back? How does it cock itself?

I would suggest moving from that God forsaken Demonrat infested hole ASAP!!!
Then, buy your Mateba!!
Consider it the prize for coming to your senses!!

Haha, you're all right. Screw California. I enjoy the abundance of daily activities here, but the crazy ass laws easily out-weigh the luxuries of living here.
