Mateba .44

Just had to yell out loud,, got a pair of Matebas in 44,, I am in love, I truly am,, many reasons,, The felt recoil from the lower firing is really an advantage , as well as the autoloader rebound and the muzzlebreak.. These pistols are really pleasant to shoot! Not to mention the second shot capability and no muzzle rise,, It is still right there in the sight line,, I also really like the ease at which the barrel leangth can be changed so easily. coupled with the excellent trigger and ease of adjustment,,,,I have been a S&W and python guy for years and if I had to count on one for my life would carry one,, But for ease pleasure and results, The Mateba cannot be beat,, I am wondering how I will feel at 10000 rounds there are alot of parts there alright,, But with this pistol I am going to put the rounds through it if it will let me and I cannot say that about alot of wheel guns in my safe,, I will still carry a 1911 on my hip,, But on stress relief day its going to be a Mateba,, The one problem I have encountered so far after a thousand rounds or so, is the cylinder clearance and ejecting my reloads,, the tollerance is close and unlike factory loads unless the case sizing is done well and the brass clean the empties will not fall out you have to remove them,,, not necessarily a negative thing is a target type to have close tollernce,, But worthy of not,, I suggest anyone who can try one they are different and take some getting used too with the firing from the low hole, But well worth the open mind I had to have,, its alot of damn fun,, :)

Mateba 4 mag problems

I have limited experience shooting my 44 Mateba, but so far have encountered two problems.
If bullet is not crimped, about the 4th or 5th round, the bullet jumps the seat and binds the cylinder auto rotation.
With stiff 44 mag loads, I have had numerous doublings. interesting phenomena, but undesireable . you get curious looks from other people on the firing line.
Have you experienced any of the above? thanks
