Matches and weather

We had a small action (Combat) pistol "Club Match" today. We normally get anywhere from 12 to 25 shooters at these matches, but the weather looked bad and it had rained overnight. The wind was blowing and it was about 40 degrees out.
Well seven shooters showed up so we had a match. These people like to shoot and won't use the weather as a BS excuse for not shooting.
We had a good time renewing friendships and telling old lies. These people are the backbone of the shooting sports. No BS alibis, no whining, just get up out of the easy chair, strap it on and shoot like you mean it.
God, I love these people!

Up here in Vermont (other side of the world, HS) we hold winter IPSC matches where the first four hours are dragging cars out of ditches. Next four are shooting from 20" of snow (and no, we do NOT pick our brass), last four are sitting, just sitting, someplace warm.
