Three GOAL Rallies Scheduled in April!
As you may recall, last year GOAL responded to the absurdity of legislative attempts to destroy our civil rights by playing host to a massive rally in Boston. We were proud to welcome several national speakers to Boston to address the thousands of members who participated.
Instead of focusing all of our attention in Boston, this year GOAL has planned a of events to call attention to the inequities of firearms licensing in Massachusetts
APRIL 1- CARVER, MA
~Our first event is for folks who live in the Bristol, Barnstable and Plymouth £ounty areas. If there is a chief of police who is truly a poster child for everything wrong with the state s new gun law, it is Carver Police Chief Diane Skoog.
Admittedly ignorant of constitutional she testified in a court deposition that she had never read our country s most precious document Skoog has decided to take it upon herself to deny permits to firearms to even the most
outstanding citizens and taxpayers.
Gun Owners Action League will put Skoog and her unethical practices under a glaring spotlight on April 1 when gun owners and civil libertarians from around the region gather at Carver Town Common at 11 am to promote constitutional rights and due process of law.
The most compelling speaker of the day on gun owners rights will be Texas State Representative Susanna Hupp. The Rcpresentative articulates one of the most heart wrenching stories imaginable. Having been denied her right to carry a firearm for self defense, she helplessly witnessed the murder of her parents at Luby s Restaurant because she lacked the means to defend them. Representative ~ has become a nationally respected spokeswoman on one of the nations front burner issues - the constitutional and practical right of law abiding Americans~ -to enjoy gun related sports and thedefense of their families in an increasingly violent society.
In a major public relations effort, GOAL will be running a four week advertising campaign in the weekly newspaper in Carver, promoting the April 1st event and educating the public to the abuses of power committed by Chief Skoog. The ad campaign begins the first week of March in the Carver Reporter.
APRIL 24- BOSTON, MA
To highlight the discriminatory nature of our state s licensing laws, GOAL is hosting a march around the Massachusetts State House on Monday, April 24 at 10 AM. We invite GOAL members from across the state to join us in Boston on this day and visit their legislators.
After the march and planned displays, we look forward to hearing Roy lnnis, a nationally known supporter of Second Amendment rights, speak to the crowd. Mr. Innis will talk about how discretionary licensing can be used to discriminate against persons of color.
Mr. Innis is the National Chairman of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). He was born in St. Croix, and grew up in New York City. At age 16, he joined the US Army and was honorably discharged at age 18. He joined CORE s Harlem chapter in 1963, and was elected Chairman of their education committee the same year. In 1965, he was elected Chairman of Harlem CORE. In 1968, he was elected as CORE s National Chairman.
APRIL 29- HUDSON, MA
If you are unable to attend the Carver Rally or the Boston Rally, we urge you to make plans to visit Hudson, Massachusetts on Saturdav~ April 29th.
This is the governor s home town, and GOAL members will use this rally to highlight why the governor needs to pay attention to the problems caused by our state s gun laws.
Our speaker at this rally will be the dynamic Alan Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation. Alan is well known as an outspoken advocate of our civil rights, and has no patience with politicians who think our rights are unimportant.
Join other GOAL members near the Hudson Town Hall at 10 AM on April 29.
Join Us as We Make Our Stand!
GOAL is counting on you to help make these rallies a success! Talk to your friends, co-workers and fellow club members about setting up a car pool to any or all of these events. If you need more information on the speakers, would like directions or have any questions, please call GOAL at 508-393-5333.
Help us make GOAL s presence known around the state! •

Paul, you have proved that Americans will not just lay down and forget about their Constitutional Rights. You guys and gals are an inspiration to the rest of us who have not faced as incidious an assualt on out Civil Liberties as have your people. I think the efforts of any state's group, no matter what the situation in the state in question, is support for us all.
What you have done is important, don't doubt it.

Don't forget to vote for Carla Howel for Senate!!! I live in Texas, and I sent her campaign a measly ten bucks. I hope it bought a few yard signs. She's challenging Ted Kennedy, and you may be able to get her elected if you volunteer for her campaign.
