Im so tired of the mass shootings, but more so the media portrayal of the fault lying on the firearm itself.

I often think that these tragic events are exactly what the liberal legislators want. They just want more fuel for their agendas, and hope that the tragedy , and sadness pursuade the american public, and the media that all guns and gun owners should be outlawed.

I just wonder how many more of these events are going to happen, before they get there way.

Yes, there are people that use these mass shootings to benefit their cause, bleeding out the catastrophy for all it's worth, just like there are those low lifes that take advantage and loot after a natural disaster...but even as bad as our society has become, I just cannot bring myself to think that anyone, even the most anti-gun zealot would actually want these tragedies to happen just to further their cause.

Any larger than normal casualty event will attract press coverage. Separate accidents resulting 30 deaths don't make a story. A bus with 30 people going off a bridge is a story.

I do agree there are agendas in the overplaying the shootings in a good portion of the press. Some of that is ideological, but a good deal of the higher play is simply because the news outlets know it will generate political responses -- giving the story legs.

We're all tired of the shootings. There are those who think more regulations would stem the tide, and there are those who argue that more regulations do nothing to help.

However, gun control isn't agenda of one camp and one camp only. It's disingenuous to pigeonhole it like that, and it borders on slander for us to suggest that someone actually wants these tragedies to happen.

That said, since this isn't focused on a specific law and/or civil rights issue, I'm going to close it.
