Mass case trimmer - WFT2 vs TRIM-IT II

Hi ther guys,
i'm looking for a final solution about case trimming. I reload .223 caliber but trimming it with a manual trimmer it's a waste of time so i'm interested in buying something to keep a good quality but much more faster. The Giraud trimmer it's out of budget but i have read about the World Finest Trimmer 2 made by Little Crow Gun Works and TRIM- IT II by eztrimit. I red a lot of reviews and this trimmers are a good value for money. The main difference between this two trimmers is that with WFT you have to deburr and chamfer the cases after trimming them, is that right ? What would you reccomend? I think i'll buy the TRIM-IT 2 so i don't have to waste time deburring and chamfering.
Ciao :)

WFT Trimmer

I have several of the WFT. They are a wonderful invention. On the .308 version which I've used a lot, I have found I don't need to chamfer or debur. You can take a mouth chamfer/debur device and run it over the mouth if you want, but that made no difference in the final reload.
Enjoy.

I bought the Possum Hollow trimmer with power adapter and shipping for $41.00
It works great and I am very happry with it.

thank you guys, so also for .223 i don't have to debur/chamfer ?
@rebs i've seen it but i'd like the wft II because you can change easily caliber

My vote for the Giraud TriWay trimmer, $90 and works great. I ran through 500 .223s this Saturday afternoon while watching the college football games!

rli,

I was in the same spot about two years ago. I had finished trimming several thousand .223/556 cases with a RCBS manual trimmer and had another three thousand to go. I could do about a hundred cases an hour which didn't include chamfering inside and outside the neck.

So I ordered the Giraud trimmer set up for the .223. It took six weeks to arrive and cost about $450 but I can now do a hundred cases in less than ten minutes which includes chamfering inside and outside the neck. Yes it was overpriced and if I had it to do over again I'd get the Giraud Tri-way trimmer for $90 which seems to have the same carbide cutter that trims and chamfers inside and outside the neck in one step taking about one second or less.

I have not used the other power trimmers but am quite happy with the Giraud product. Good luck.

best wishes- oldandslow

Get a trimmer that does all three cuts at the same time. Anything else is a waste of money.

The new Giraud looks unbeatable.

Another very good option is the RCBS Trim Pro manual trimmer (chucked in a drill) with a three way cutter head. It's more expensive than the new Giruad but works extremely well.

For my 3 gun and general use ammo I use the Dillon trimmer with no ID/OD chamfer, no problems using jacketed bullets. On a progressive press, once set up, 1800/hr sized and trimmed is not out of the question. No sore fingers after either.

You will spend considerably less with the Lee Quick Trim. You require both pieces of equipment, the trimmer and the die to hold the case. The die fits into your press.

When I began working with 223 I was using the manual trimmer as well. I searched multiple sites but didn't want to commit to a large purchase. There are a number of electric trimmers out there that look great but I couldn't justify the price versus the volume. Since my equipment is Lee I sought out FS Reloading, an authorized distributor and made the purchase. For the money, you can't beat this solution.

Good luck.

I have the Little Crow and like it a lot.

My brother has the motorized Gerard and its great for large batches and sometimes I do that. Most of mind are small 50 round batch and the Little Crow works good.

Changing the motorized from on type to another takes some time

Not sure if the Gerard Tri Way is better as I have the prep machine and the chamber and e-de-bur not much of an issue as I am cleaning primer pockets anyway.
