Maryland Gun Dealers, What are Pratical Conquenses of New Law?

I have concerns for the future of
the firearms industry.

I was reading in April 5,2000 local paper that the Gov.of Maryland signed into law new legislation further restricting the
legal sale of firearms.

I direct your attention to:
Quote
" The Maryland bill, which was passed on Monday night,
ENDS THE SALE OF CONVENTIAL HANDGUNS IN
2003.
AFTER THAT ,NEW HANDGUNS WILL HAVE TO BE EQUIPED WITH INTERNAL BUILT IN LOCKS."

I am not as concerned as Maryland dealers must be right now, being from another state, but I can invision that legislation being adopted by my state.

Were I a Maryland dealer, what would be the status of my stock of
conventional firearms on Jan 1,2003 ?

Would I be allowed to sell the new in box conventional firearms already in inventory since I had purchased them for stock to resell before Jan 1 ,2003.

And would I still be allowed to sell my pre ban USED conventional firearms because they were in circulation before the bann?

These questions must be burning in Maryland gun dealers minds right about now and even myself, in another state, am worried
if I need to consider a blow out sale to dump all my conventional firearms without built in trigger locks before some date in the future.

What I think I am really asking is are these types of laws designed to stick firearms dealers with unsellable merchandise that we have paid for and can not return and will not be allowed to sell.......
/ or / will we be allowed to sell old "in inventory stock"
of conventional firearms,
only ordering new internal lock guns from this point forward or from Jan 1,2003 forward.

Today at the S&W store with the Academy, they were told by the AG's office that only the TSW pistol line with the new chambered round indicator and the revolver line meet the new regulations.

The remaining S&W guns have been pulled from the shelves. That includes all Walther S&W 99 guns, all Sigmas, all .22 guns, all other 3rd generation pistols and the Performance Center
