martini action

Does anybody know if there is a set trigger either single or double to suit the martini actions without major work.

Curious, you asking about triggers for a full sized martini, or one of the cadet martinis. I have two cadet martinis with their original triggers and absolutely love the trigger pull on both of them as has anyone else who has ever shot them.

martini Triggers

I have one Cadet and three Greeners and the triggers are poor and that would be being to nice, I have cleaned and oiled the actions and that has not improved them at all, I am not a gunsmith or machinist so I have not played with them but I would like them a little better

I've never seen a set trigger made for these. In the late 1800's they were commonly used for building what the British called a stalking rifle. They would fire a large bore heavy bullet at low velocity, fairly short range. Not the type of shooting that a set trigger would make a difference. The trigger to sear engagement can always be improved with careful stoning.

Hatcher mentions but does not illustrate set triggers on Swiss Martini free rifles in 1928 and 1930. DeHaas shows a set trigger Scheutzen Martini.
So it is possible but not without major work.

The Freeland-BSA Martini target rifles I have seen had very fine plain triggers.
