Marlin XT 22 WMR

I love my 882SS (.22 WMR Stainless Steel / Synthetic - 2 or more generations older than the XT version).

With the improved trigger system, it should only be better.

Pros:
They're just as accurate as the competition, rugged, reliable, affordable, and available.
The dovetailed receiver makes scope mounting easy, with rimfire/airgun rings.
This whole series of rifles has many interchangeable parts. Repairs are cheap, with easily sourced parts. (Though, you shouldn't ever break any thing.)

Cons:
Magazines stab you in the back, if you carry the rifle slung over your shoulder. (There is a solution, though: Buy the flush-fitting 4-round magazines from Marlin.)
Fit and finish are not great (it works, but won't win any beauty pageants).
The stupid airgun/rimfire dovetail on the receiver is a hokey way to mount a scope - they should have drilled and tapped it, too.

Bottom line:
I'd buy another one.
I'd probably even trade Old Reliable in for one with the new Fire Control Group. (I wonder if I can drop one in my rifle.... ;))

I love my Marlin as well. Mine is about 5 years old, and I can't remember the model number right now (bolt action, heavy barrel, 7 round detachable mag).

I have had zero issues with it, and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. There are other rifles that have better fit and finish (Ruger 77/22, CZ's, Brownings, etc.), but it has been reliable and accurate for me, at less than half the price of some of the others.

Thanks guys for the reply. I have two old Marlins also- Model 60 and the 917VS. They are also very accurate but the trigger on both are terrible. I was hoping this new trigger system that Marlin has in their new rifles now are as good as Savages or better.
