Marlin XT-22 Any Experience?

I really like the Marlin youth model XT-22, specifically the XT-22YSR which has a stainless steel barrel. My 8 year old son is wanting his first rifle. I'm wondering if anyone has one or has any experience. Thanks!

I have the 831T which is the predecessor to this, but not youth. Very happy with it so far.
