whats the word on this savage look alike is it accurate as the savage how does it compare to other bolt rifles ect i like the price of the marlin but is this going so cheap as to lose performance or is simply a good rifle at a great price

Hey bud i just got a x7vh .308 and put a redfield scope on it for now and love it. It shoots better then i can shoot and the weight of it makes it a nice piece. One thing i done was called boyed gun stocks and ordered a ross feather weight varmit thumb hole stock for a xs7 and did the fitting my self to fit the bull barrel to keep it free floating. It takes alot of wood removal in the barrel channel but it makes the rifle look and feel as good as it shoots. I would put it up against my rem 700 sps tatical anyday. Im not on here trying to say its the only rifle everyone should buy. but for a low price heavy barrel rifle its on the top of the list on quality. reason i dumped my poly stock was it was kinda warped on the front end.

Hey Hdtvseller how did you go about removing the wood? I am getting one in 22-250 and would love to get the same stock.

i started off with a large file,i soon relized their is alot more wood to remove then i thought. i pulled out the dremmel and went to town. I kept sure i was making it round by taking a large socket same dia. of the barrel at that point and placing it in the channel .It def is possiable to do if u have course files but will take 10 hrs of work. I used the blue chaulk on the barrel to mark the stock touching points everytime i reset the action to check progress. Ill try to post a pic of the completed job for some reason it wont load on this post. boyds has the lock on the laminated stock for the price and quality its unbeatable. I went with camo laminate mainly bc the pepper was out of stock and backordered for a while. All of them look great tho.

x7vh .308 the bolt knob is actually about to be changed to a badger ordnace tatical bolt knob. I have trouble somedays grabbing the bolt knob that comes stock on most rifles reason for that change.

I checked out a X7VH .308 at a recent gun show and was very impressed with the trigger for a gun with ~$330 price tag. If I just had not picked up a Saiga, I would have bought the Marlin.

HDTVSELLER thanks for the info, and the pic it looks great. I plan on doing this soon, i will post some pics when she is done.
