Marlin or Savage 22lr

Hey guys I'm looking at a couple rifles for pinking maybe some squirrels and rabbits.
A savage one and a marlin one. The only real differences is the savage is detachable mag fed and has the accu trigger. Marlin has a tube mag which I like but with the marlin adjustable trigger

I have no place to go to look at them side by side stock and finish are the same, price difference is negligible 3 or 4 dollars.

Both are bolt action as well

Any opinions on which is better?

Look into the Marlin XTs. They have a similar trigger system and are magazine fed.

Gun gossip suggests that the Remlins (because Remington bought Marlin) are spotty in terms of quality control, but I haven't seen this at the range.

Another option you may consider is the Marlin 795, semiautomatic, but can still shoot within 1" at 50 meters.

If you don't plan on mounting a scope on it, the Savage will have better stock sights.

Hope that helps.

he might be looking at the Marlin 60? but i chose the Savage Mark II FV for out of the box accuracy. but i have wanted to know which one is better.

I like the tube fed better. Mags are expensive and easy to destroy. I will put a scope on it. I want a bolt action just for the cool factor. I have a semi auto 22 and lever action rim fire just does not blow my skirt up.
So it really seems to come down to trigger unless one or the other is all around higher quality.
