Marlin model 81-DL?

My grandfather just gave me a Marlin 81-DL that he bought 57 years ago. It is in really good shape. I may have it re-finished though. Can anyone tell me anything else about it?

The only info I could find on the 81DL was dates of manufacture (1940-1965) and price range ($65-$90). They are supposed to be good-quality rifles, so shoot it and enjoy!
