My dad has had this gun stored away for years. Wondering if anyone could tell me about this gun. How come I can't find much about this .22 LR model 70 online? Are they less common? All the information I can find is about the 70 P or PSS. How similar is this gun to the model 60? The serial number is 17301xxx

I had a Marlin Model 70 years ago, it is essentially a Model 60 with a detachable magazine. Good little rifle, I am not sure why they never became more popular. Marlin now calls the detachable magazine version the Model 795.

from my understanding while they may be slightly diff, the model 70 is basically a model 795, which is it self just a model 60 with DBM instead of a tube mag. all three are great guns ... i have both the 795 and the 60

I just got back from the range with my Glenfield Model 70, made by Marlin. I have Tech-Sights and a GI web sling and am getting under 2" groups at 50 yards using the sling from the bench with Federal and Winchester bulk ammo. Great rifle and fun to shoot.
