I was shooting my .22 today and broke it down to clean. As the barrel was coming out of the stock a screw type device dropped on the floor. It took a minute for me to figure out where it goes and what it does. As I finished up I was putting the trigger housing back into the the stock and the front screw for the tirgger house is suppose to be tightend with that screw device that dropped out. Ive been struggling trying to get it back on and be tight but its not working. Anyone with a marlin model 60 have this problem and know how to get it tightend. Ill take and send pictures if it will help. thanks

PS that screw device goes into the trigger house and just sits there

Judging by what you describe, it sounds like the front attachment for the triggerguard. It is a flat stamped out piece, threaded in the center with two teeth on the lower surface to bite into the stock. If this sounds like what you have, take the action out of the stock. Install the trigger guard in place with that little piece inside the stock and screw in the front screw. There is really no need to take the guard out again. The rear guard screw goes in last after you put the action in the stock and install the take-down screw. Hope this helps. Goatwhiskers

You are correct except there is no teeth for the flat stamped out screw to bite into. Ill do this later on today and let you know what happens
