Hey guys!
Finally plunked down hard-earned greenbacks for a sweet little lever action.
I had been lamenting that Marlin only made the Cowboy (octoganal barrel, non-hooded sights, no porting, pistol calibers) in 24" barrle lengths, which just seemed a bit too massive and unwieldy for a lever action 45.
Lo and behold the Stockade here in OC PRK had a limited edition 45LC cowboy with a 20" barrel (although no checkering)! Unfortunately they were asking $759 for it. Ouch. The regular cowboy can be had here in OC for about $580-$630, depending. Seemed a bit steep to buy a rifle that was essentially the same with just 4" of the barrel lopped-off.
So I checked with ARM-USA, and Frank said he could get one for $629!!!! Nice! So I ordered it. 10 days of nail-biting are in my future.
Don't know if this is a good price or not, but it was $130 less then I could find it anywhere else, and its what I wanted to begin with!
So now its off to midway to buy some dies and materials.
