Marlin levergun question

The longer model has two bands which encircle the forend and magazine tube. Obviously, they must exert some tension on the barrel. :

Would this shorter version have better accuracy potential, w/o that constriction, all else being equal?:

To be honest, the porting doesn't really appeal to me, but the 'cleaner' look of the gun does.:) Are there any advantages of one over the other, other than the extra round on tap in the 18.5" gun?
 
Both methods of holding the fore-end stock will do the same thing. In the 1894CP, the screw that holds the fore-end cap goes through a plate that is welded to the barrel. Although accuracy in modern lever guns is much improved, they are not tack drivers. Accuracy is about 2 inches in most guns and both of those guns would do about the same.

Difference between the two guns is going to be about 200 FPS.
