marlin competion cowboy rusted!

hm, just a heads up on the marlin competion cowboy gun! I have a new one, never fired kicking around. while doing my occasional oilling, inspecting or just plain fondling i nearly had a fit! the inside of the action was literally covered in rust. 11 other guns stored in same place same conditions with no problems. as nutty as it seems, i almost believe their case hardening was either not nuetralized correctly or that particular finish offers little in the way of rust protection.....for what it is worth, bobn

I would contact your dealer or Marlin. If there is a problem with the finish, Marlin won't have any problems refinishing it and correcting the problem.
