I recently purchased a 1978 Marlin 99C for $85.00 from a well respected gunshop in my area. When i fired the rifle for the first time the gun would not eject the empty shells or partialy eject them causing a jam. Concerned about this I took the rifle apart and another shooter at the range had told me that the action was extremely dirty and likely causing my jamming issues. The bolt did not move very freely at all, and got so bad at one point that it would not even close all the way. I than reassembled the gun and started loading the magazine with only one round at a time and when i would pull the action back and let it slam forward the bullet would become lodged into the barrel at a wierd angle. Maybe this was because the bolt would not slam forward very hard at all, so i began hand loading the riffle and found it to shoot very well. i have since taken the riffle home and cleaned it, I have yet to get a chance to shoot it. I was hoping that maybe some of you out there may be able to offer some suggestions or may have had a smiliar experience with this riffle.
:EDIT: I want to add that I was firing Remington .22LR subsonic hp rounds.
Thanks,
