Marlin 45-70 guide gun action stuck open

my guide gun action is jamed open and wont close with a round stuck in the tube suggestions for what may be wrong gun was bought used and probabally shot a lot suggestions of what may be wrong would be appreciated

Beaver: What you have is the called the Marlin jam. It's an easy fix. Google "Marlin jam fix" and you'll see how to take care of the problem.

Simple fix:

Take the mag, tube off, with the spring and follower, then take the cart. out and put it back together.

Its common and almost as fast to fix as it is to jam it.

Careful though, My kid jamed my 1895 Cowboy and we had to close the range while we looked for the spring that shot out into the tall grass.
