Marlin 39AS Question

I picked up a Marlin 39AS yesterday and it has me baffled. Upon taking it apart I can't figure out how the bolt locks up. On every other gun I've taken apart the locking surfaces have been quite obvious. Anyone know how it locks up?

I believe it locks on the knob at the end of the lever. That knob mates with an inset in the bolt and when in battery, it cams against the part of the bolt that extends down ahead of the lever knob. It's not large mating area, but there isn't a lot back thrust either. A small amount of grease there will help prevent premature loosening of the action (premature = 30 years or so of constant use).
