This is my firts post. Cause was not able to find the new member intro forum, I will wright few lines about me here, before going to the subject core.
If wrong please delete or move to appropriate site. English is not my motherthongue so excuse my mistakes.
I shot at the range, mostly carabine, seldom hand gun, and not hunt anymore (too few quarryes on this site of the pond). Enjoy reloading too. Being somehow mecanical inclined (I whork myself on my motor bikes HD and BMW all'carburated vintage models, no thrill injection) I try to take care of my guns too. The gun I shot the more is a Carl Gustaf Husquarna, 1943 made, that was built for snipers company (ie resistances, patriotts) just in case of invasion. Now its what I love more. Recently I started rethinking to 22 cal and bought a Marlin. I must admitt I had never considered the 22 cal. Partially because of my lack of knowledge, partially because it's immagine of a beginner bullet, and mostly because here is not alaud for any kind of hunting, mouses and any varmint too. So ended up buyng this Marlin 39A microgrove barrel. T.D. Serial start with AA so should be made around 1965-70 (for shure no cross safety). Was a sort of collection item and layed for years in a safe. Doesn'appear to be greatly used or abused. I lake it veri. Hope you too

Welcome to the forum .

You did good picking a Mountie . They are very sought after here in the US , very nice collectible rife and they are nice shooters also .

You have a good eye !!!

Welcome aboard and the Mountie will enhance any collection. Besides looking good, they shoot great. There are about three or so variations produced by Marlin. All are winners in my book. ;)

Be Safe !!!

I have wanted a Mountie for a long time. I had a 39A, but found the 24 inch barrel just too long, and nose heavy. It was great benchrested, but not offhand for me. I just never warmed up to it, so I sold it. The Mountie is perfect as the shorter barrel makes it better balanced, and handier. Good choice!
