Marlin 39A Golden Mountie .22

Several years ago, the CMP sold some Aguila 22 Std Vel ammo. I picked up a 5K round case back then.

Well, today, I got around to shooting some out of the 1966 Marlin Golden Mountie. I think both rifle and ammo are a good match together. I'm no match shooter, for sure, but I was pleasantly surprised of the results!

For the life of me, I can't figure out why I don't have a 39A yet. For 25 years or so, I've always told myself I want/need to get one, but when I have the money in my pocket, there isn't a 39A around and something else talks the money out of my pocket.

I have many .22lr rifles, but I'm glad in the 80s I bought the Marlin 39a, a Winchester 9422 and Browning lever. All have more value than the dollars I could sell them for!

^^^ I haven't seen many of them for sale around here, at the last few gunshows.

This one was given to me about 20 years ago by a now deceased friend which makes it more special!

When I have seen them, they were in rifle length rather than the shorter, thicker barreled Mountie length.

Good luck.
